The NRW Innovation Alliance supports the promotion of research and knowledge transfer at participating universities by, among others, offering services for these universities, brokering cooperations between researchers and businesses, and its continuous proactive public relations activities. Jointly defined quality standards apply for all participating universities and partners.

The NRW Innovation Alliance relies on a lean organisational structure and straightforward collaboration between the participating actors, free of red tape. A well-ordered and manageable organisation guarantees internal and external commitment.

The NRW Innovation Alliance is committed to an active partnership with other innovation-oriented forces in North Rhine-Westphalia, including politics and administration, associations and networks, chambers of trade and commerce, and diverse clusters and excellence initiatives.

Universities which are members of the NRW Innovation Alliance benefit in several areas from the work of the Innovation Alliance and its board, e.g. when developing spin-off strategies, in lobbying towards political institutions, and in public relations activities.

Furthermore, the Innovation Alliance connects businesses in search of new products, competent consultation, or innovative solutions to their respective entrepreneurial challenges with suitable partners from the ranks of affiliated universities and universities of applied science.
