Since early 2007, the InnovationsAllianz of NRW Universities has supported collaborations with businesses, associations, and other economic and social institutions to make North Rhine-Westphalia an innovation leader in Germany, using know how and knowledge transfer as well as research and development. Universities, universities of applied sciences, and university spin-off organisations from all of NRW have joined forces in Germany's largest university association of this kind.
