The work of the NRW Innovation Alliance has resulted in a large number of collaborations of businesses, associations, social and other institutions on the one side and universities and research institutes on the other. Whether it is issues such as energy management or energy sources, biomedical sciences, agriculture, production engineering and manufacturing, or addiction assistance or other social challenges: there is great demand for the willingness to innovate of businesses, policy-makers, or responsible employees and the know how of scientists.
Cooperations with businesses result in innovative product developments or optimised workflows and thus, as a rule, to improved bottom lines and increased employee numbers. Some of the cooperation projects, e.g. the development of a stable-cleaning robot, received the renowned Seifriz Award of the German Trades.
